Now that you are engaged, you're probably wondering what steps you need to take in order to be married in the Church. The following information will tell you about the St. Andrew the Apostle preparation process called, "Marriage Preparation and Beyond".
In order to begin sacramental preparation at St. Andrew's, you must be a registered, active parish member for three months. If you are not a member, begin by registering with the parish. After the three months, or, if you are already active, fill out a Sacrament of Marriage Information form by downloading the form found here. (Adobe Reader is required to view the file.) Please print the form and fill it out completely. Forms can also be found at the Welcome Table in the Narthex of the Church. Submit the completed form to the parish main office. You will be called for your initial appointment. At that time, you will receive a complete marriage preparation package and may schedule your wedding date and time.
The Diocese of Phoenix marriage guidelines specify a preparation period of at least six months. During that time you will take and review the FOCCUS communications inventory, attend an information class on Natural Family Planning and participate in a marriage preparation program.
You will also complete and furnish necessary documents and meet with a priest or deacon for sacramental preparation. If you are marrying at St. Andrew's, you will also meet with our Music ministry department and a wedding coordinator to finalize your plans.
